Baby Bumps Don't Need Achy Feet

Baby Bumps Don't Need Achy Feet

The nursery is ready, you and the hubby picked names, you listened to all the great advice and stories from your family and friends, but there is one area that continues to need attention; those aching feet!

Added baby weight, the physical changes of the body, and perhaps a little less activity can contribute to foot feels.  There’s a great article by The Bump that provides some practical advice to aid in dealing with achy feet during pregnancy:

  1. Sleep on your side to keep pressure off the veins carrying blood back to your heart.
  2. Get off your feet throughout the day as frequently as possible, even for just a few minutes. It helps to elevate the feet above the level of the heart if you are able. The legs up the wall stretch with ankle exercises featured in the video below is great for 3-5 minutes a couple of times a day.
  3. Stretch the calf muscles and exercise the toes to prevent charlie-horse cramps in the calves and achy feet.
  4. Limit salt! Leave the shaker on the table to avoid retaining even more excess fluids.
  5. Stay cool. Swelling is worse in high temperatures.
  6. Use compression pantyhose hose in cases of persistent swelling. Regular tights can help but if you have significant swelling you can ask your doctor for a prescription for special compression stockings.

(In rare instances, swelling and pain in the legs can indicate a serious condition. If you have swelling or pain in only one leg or if swelling comes on suddenly, you should contact your doctor immediately.)

We would add number 7 to the list:

Introduce Sole Serum into your routine.  The cooling and soothing ingredients in our formulation really do make a difference when it comes to foot pain.  Apply generously to your entire foot where pain is felt. Apply to affected area no more than 3 to 4 times daily.  And you tell us, doesn’t that feel better?!
